Community Learning Centers (CLC) provide a new educational opportunity for people to study Anthroposophy with the Rudolf Steiner College faculty in their own communities. Our master teachers in Anthroposophical studies, Waldorf education, and the arts will travel to your community for two to three intense weekends over the course of three years to help enliven your community. We are interested in responding to requests from around the country to launch a CLC in any community where there is sufficient enrollment.
Students who attend the CLCs in their home communities do so for personal and family enrichment and for a deepening in the academic, artistic and practical experience of Anthroposophy.
With this program, we also make it possible for people who wish to enter our summer Waldorf Teacher Education for shortened periods each summer. Students will engage in the initial foundation studies in their own communities, and then travel to Fair Oaks for three weeks of summer courses over the course of three years. The CLC curriculum will provide the per-requisites necessary to enroll in: The Summer Teacher Education Program/ Early Childhood and Grades; The Summer High School Teacher Education Program; and the Subject Teacher Education Program. Upon successful completion of one of these three programs, students will receive a Diploma in Waldorf Education recognized by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America.
Courses offered in the Community Learning Centers focus on foundation studies in Anthroposophy and the arts. Courses likely to be given are included in the list that follows. No academic credit is given for these courses, but as detailed, they fulfill per-requisites for enrollment in the above Waldorf Teacher Education Programs. CLC courses may include:
